Are You Willing?

You've marched
you've sung
sent letters
made calls
it made you feel
connected and
it changed nothing.
Why?
Look at history
These things have never
been enough.
Greed and Power
don't care.
Nor do Fear
and Addiction.
I won't say
that Evil rules
but surely by now
everyone knows
that money does.
It will take sacrifice
Are you willing?
We don't have to
kill or die
but we must give
something that matters
something that has effect
something that changes
and charges those in command
of our young, our hopeless,
our crazily sick and damaged
and us
ALL OF US.
Make a difference
Make a dent
Make them notice
by witholding  their
billions just for a day
Then another
Then ongoing
until powers that lie
that feed on fear
that promote death
that promise false reward
that feed on us all
Are put on notice
in ways that protests
and pleas have never
produced  real change.
Just one day a week
Can you do it?
Are you willing?
Every one who cares
UNPLUG!
Cut off
ALL SOCIAL MEDIA
ALL INTERNET COMMERCE
for just one day.
Then make it
a weekly promise
that you will
continue
NO MATTER WHAT!
I promise you
this will be noticed.
You and yours decide
which day.
I like Sundays
a day for
Reverence
Love
Friendship
Family
Connection
Peace
Action
