Giving In To The Wonder Of It All
Giving in as the light does
in the slow slide through the trees’ canopy.
I give in to the solemn moments
of failing the earth or each other.
I give in to the silence of trees and rock,
dirt and old leaves.
i give in to the more than me forest and rivers,
clouds and sky.
i give in to beauty ever lasting.
i give in to the mystery of terrible disasters
and sublime courage that can resurrect truth
and awaken life in a desert
and that we do not give up
lifting our voices in the heart breaking open
into song.
We keep singing.
We keep singing.
I give in to joy.
All around us are towers of light
we call trees, there are circles of light we call flowers
bodies of light who fly
we call birds,
lights who leap and climb on land and in the water,
lights in between our words or as our hands touch
as our memories remember.
Our thrilling differences, our delicious differences of shapes and sizes,
yet we fit together and make a world.
I give in to giving in to the Cosmic Mosaic where i fit in
as light became me to wander through the stirring grove
of thoughts, mine and everything else .
To accomplish this has always been easier than we think.
