Cloud & Tree

Ah, to be as unattached
As a cloud. 
To stretch, billow - or disappear altogether, 
Absolutely no problem. 

And yet - to be rooted as a tree,
With endless patience and resilience: 
A season to bud each new leaf,
A year to yield a single ring.

Undaunted by mishaps, 
Instead 
Including them all 
In cherished new growth, 
Year after blessed year.
