 Coming to Terms      

as I get old 
frail and weakened
my balance doesn’t work so well
no more jitterbug with double back spins
can’t climb that rocky slope

and yet in my mind 
i’m 35 years younger 
i can do anything
so that I’m always surprised 
with what simply  won’t work

a measure of time’s
quicksilver  alchemy
an invitation to a  precious awakening
to celebrate the richness
of living life fully
