Call It Any Name
Yesterday, I stood in front of a purple Mexican Bush
Sage, though call it any name, call it something
beautiful, call it a color reflecting sunlight, tangible as
the glimmering hummingbird hovering, whose
harmonic cricketing hum awakened my delight.
I spoke to my companion, “look at the world reaching
out in splendor and celebration. Isn’t it grand?”
He cocked his spotted head, his amber eyes smiled
assent, his tail wagged, he sniffed the fragrant air wafting.
All of us joined cells, one chimera, a moment in the day.
