    By what blessedness do I weep? 
            - Wendell Berry

My ancestors gather
Silently at the railway terminus
Some still seek their work
Some favor the returning light

I ask them
What is that word, that moment 
When the body crosses over 
Its own determinant threshold?

They say, from an essay into a sonata?

I plant my wooden cane 
Onto the stations platform,
Muses are intrigued and 
Beguiled by props 

And I have my answer
