Coniferotica
Pineapple Express,
that Spring Trickster
arrives in her full drama dress
Her warm wind swoops under the ponderous
redwood branches
the heavy boughs sway side to side.
Increasing rhythm
now bow and dip in shimmering waves
excite to a shared swaying undulation.
Breaking synchronicity,
now they sweep in opposing directions,
slam passionately into each other,
arch away, massive
emerald dancers.
Erupting into frenzy,
a wild chaotic fibrillation,
shaking,
faster, faster.
OH! AHHH! OH!!
The wind stops.
They stand, panting.
I don’t know, Dear,
at our age, do you think
we can keep this up?
