Not Again

Oh no, here they come again
They ruin every Spring
I’m going to find their damn bank
and make a major withdrawal

It’s been going on for years, an hour
every morning, eight months at a time
They don’t ask, they just take
They don’t even say, please

I may have to go to Washington, DC
I mean that’s a logical place
for a mess like this to start
and who’s the culprit

The Bank of Daylight Savings Time, of course
The Bank that collects the light, yours and mine
every year, all across the country
Well, they’re coming again

Jeez, how much do they need
They must have enough of mine to light up
The Pleiades for the next thirty years

Would it be asking too much
for Just a little bit back
