Here The Embrace
I don’t have to reach very far for Death.
Death like morning
is a privilege of light
like the bird’s cheep cheep cheep
that cheeps the sun awake.
Come here, my man:
Take off your shoes, your britches, your ring.
No, don’t!
You don’t have to be nude to be naked.
Press your heart to mine,
let’s take a drink of God.
We always knew it was there,
that somewhere
The Cup Of Wine Is One.
What need have we of the tasteless untasted!
Sweetheart of God.
This is the rampant fast.
This the teeming life!
