The Geode     


Simple.

It is a rock
       dull and rough
                brown and black
                          with mottled greys

an ordinary rock. 

One who wonders

might cleave its 
        unamazing
                needful cover

to discover
       the geode's dark vault
               had long cocooned
                       a galaxy of sharp-edged
                                crystal prisms
                                           fired 
                                                   to break open 
                                                              light.
                                                              
May my heart
         more and more
                 be one 
                         that sees the everyday

and beholds the Infinite.
