Dizzy Spell
Shall the mystery come upon one as a surprise?
Suppose one’s life has dedicated itself to the heart?
Then why should God come upon one unprepared?
But it is so.
The heart gives one courage even to die.
And what then?
My pen drops from my hand
even before the task’s approach.
Because?
Because Death has no warning signs once the country’s
entered.
Once entered you are there. All is yours.
Taste the dizzy air. You can do it.
Feel the breeze of where you came from long ago.
Join the multitudes of those
whose names are now, and once again,
the same as yours.
