President Trump Cancels Wind Power Funding

Where would our path have led
if an earth mother had brought those commandments
down the arid mountainside in the deeps of time?

I am the earth, thy mother,
and thou shalt place nothing above me.

Thou shalt engrave no image onto
living wood, stone, or landscape,
for they are extensions of me.

On the sabbath, if you can,
pause and breathe in my crystal air
and dance on my rich jacket of soil.

Remember, there is only one earth,
and she is yours to nurture, not exploit.

Honor thy parents and thy children
as you honor thyself and me.

Thou shalt not murder another person
or living thing without dire need.
Husband my children and the lilies of the field.

Stay true to your family,
for they are our present, future, and past.

You must have no gain from theft, but create what you need
with the sun, rain, and air, I provide.

Go light: Use not for financial gain
my lifeblood from underground,
the glimmering glowing stone of my body,
the sacred waters that wash us all clean,

Turn inward in stillness for answers
and remember, first do no harm.
