Bamboo Wisdom 



It’s been several days 

since I’ve encouraged the bamboo -

I turn my back 

and it’s grown 

three more feet 

without me!



It’s blue eyes stare me down , 

squinting with blinding sun

green mouth filled with emerald wedges of truth, 

its lips a moving breeze

into the ear of my imagination.



“When will you trust the mudra

Inside the branch and leaf 

of your design?

What will it take 

to hear the om humming

inside the stalk of your spine?”
