I can’t stop thinking about the girls.

The courageous girls
The resilient girls
The girls who stand up to injustice
And demand respect

The orphaned girls who carry their younger siblings to a safer place
The resourceful girls who stay alive despite the odds
The girls who hold tight the spark of hope and care
Even when no one cares for them

I can’t stop thinking about the girls.

Innovators
Fighters
Visionaries

Greta Thunberg
Ruby Bridges
Jazz Jennings
Simone Biles

Indomitable
Unstoppable
Formidable
And yeah, beautiful
