We Are Going To War
 
We are going to war
The motion of the blood vessels expand
Contract, the breath becomes shallow
nerves excite their light
The synapses fire and fire like antiaircraft ordinance
A terrifying necklace glitters in the eye the mind the night
 
We are going to war
There are people we hate and hate us in turn
Though they will have started this
Its their way of life, its all that they do, its all that they are
The arguments are fusing into bombs
That will tear the flesh from children's bones
 
We will have reasons we will have so many reasons
We are going to war
Our teeth will taste the strength an animal tastes
In tearing flesh, as sweet as justice 
And we will fall into the pleasure of it.
Your neighbors will surrender to this war
 
In the supermarket, in the swimming pool, in the school
They will change from small talk
to demanding blood
You will see things you are not prepared to see
Your laws will be defiled, your beliefs will show you what they are
We are going to war
 
The years of peace are slipping from our hands
And we watch them as passive as the man
Who knows, the ocean rip is stronger than the land
It pulls him out - he does not resist
He floats on his back, looks into the sky 
and lets it take him like fair prey. 
We are drifting to war
