At the Head of the Table

A Senior General with an air of authority speaks of war, 
civil unrest, air and ground battles, back to the time 
of Castro, Hitler, Mussolini, the assassination 
of Archduke Ferdinand. Monologue comes 
to a close. His mouth the shape of a heart. 
Between closed lips, the silhouette of
of a peace dove.  Above his chin
a tiny mole in the shape 
of a distant time period. 
If all talk of war 
would end that
way.
