Earth, earthy now more than earthen day
Earth, earthy now more than earthen day
like Kabir’s pots is it potter or is it verdant clay?
We live upon, within, around this crazy chlorophyll
Fullfilled with the sound of this wild green idyll.
The trees are all in a waking dream,
unending cycle, an unbroken hymn
spring’s floral abundance, has now given way
so leafy refulgence once again holds sway.
The oxygenation is almost too much,
but then. we are all made of such
sky clouds seek to form an atmospheric limit
towards what we barely conceive as the infinite
and crawling below, amidst rootage and organic litter
we seek the flow and ebb, we grow and falter.
Many false starts and random faults have we
and the glory yes the glory we too rarely see.
Still stunted, like giraffe without her neck,
freeform floating laughs no safety net
still with wings and claws too rough to grasp.
Where’s my flotilla? I forgot to ask.
I’ll take a draught, an earth-filled dram
and hope it’s more than a mossy hologram
what’s real is felt on the tips of our skin
and the little bits of air that filter in
who knows what all this truly is that surrounds us
even as we pull apart, earth’s clay grounds us.
