Unnoticed

A mattress under golden leaves
a man with light brown hair 
a blond lab lies beside him.
Cyclists, pedestrians go about their day
two swans glide along the Landwehrkanal 
there is light and peace around him
at this moment in time.
Is it because I travel through
that I take notice. 
What do I miss when I’m home
when going about my regular routine.
Do I close my eyes as well.
No one seems to mind or care 
this young man might be dying 
what can anyone really do.
Should we ask his name and number
call his mother, big brother
to find him at this location. 
Content with lying on a mattress, 
a stunning view by the water 
an open sky above
nothing could be better than this.
His dog beside him
among wet golden leaves.
