Avodah: Go Lie Down

It’s good to go lie down, bury your face in the humus, mumble and
and be humble, remembering that you too are rust and dust.

Cuddle down with the earthen stuff of old, it has flowed through
the veins of a thousand ancestors long before you rolled into the fold.

Take a time out and empty the wine from your divine cup: let spirit
fill it up; slake the thirst of this divine universe; remembering that the

Moment your head and heart start to share the same plot of dark
earth, your brain and lofty vanity softens itself from clinging in your

So-called sanity. Lie down in the grass where the teachings of rocks
will knock off your socks, and by being barefoot and small you are

more able to hear the sound of that god given call that serves the
great all. So go lie down on the great mother’s ground. Probably,

Hopefully, she’s still hangin’ around.
