A bucket full of things slowed me down, but I finally finished my on-line write-up about the first of Operation RubyThroat's midwinter 2013 expeditions to Crooked Tree in Belize, where Ruby-throated Hummingbirds dine on Cashew nectar and are apparent pollinators of this introduced tree.
RTHU were not plentiful but we captured plenty of other resident and migrant birds; many of the latter have already passed through or are breeding in your part of North America by now. To view the day-by-day account of our recent work in Central America, please visit "This Week at Hilton Pond" for the week of 25 Feb-7 Mar 2013 at http://www.hiltonpond.org/ThisWeek130225.html
There are plenty of colorful images of flora, fauna, and landscapes, so it may take a few seconds for the page to come up. It's optimized for your smartphone or tablet if you want to download the installment for later viewing.
Happy (Neotropical) Nature Watching!
BILL
