[Pollinator] Fwd: Poster

Dear Colleagues:

My undergraduate student, Dowen Jocson, entered the Sigma Xi competition
for best poster yesterday.  She did not win but she is learning how to
present her research so be patient with some problems in this poster. It is
based on only one season of fieldwork.  We are still collecting the second
season of data and there should be a third in 2015.  I think this is a good
start as we continue to work on changes in the frequency of color forms in
local populations of Viola pedata (bird's foot violet).  You'll note her
excellent photo of pollen tubes entering ovules to fertilize seeds.  Our
collections of pollinators for 2014 were far more varied than what appears
in Dowen's current poster (based on work in 2013).  I'd like to see Dowen
publish a scientific paper based on this research program.
