Dear IPBES National Focal Points, Observers, Stakeholders and Friends,
*IPBES Pollinators Assessment Now Available*
I am very pleased to inform you that all chapters, and their executive
summaries, of the IPBES thematic /Assessment on Pollinators, Pollination
and Food Production/ are now available to download on the IPBES website
at https://goo.gl/QKpaZ4

An attractive, laid-out version of this document is also being prepared
and will be made available online soon.
My sincere thanks go to everyone who has contributed to this important
first thematic output – especially the Co-Chairs, authors and our
technical support unit. The assessment is a valuable global resource,
which is already helping to inform and shape national action through
better, science-led policy.
You may have seen that, earlier this week, the French Minister of
Environment, Energy and the Sea, Ségolène Royal, hosted a high-level
event on pollination, in Paris, at which the IPBES Assessment was
highlighted as a key reference for action in support of pollination
services across France (https://goo.gl/RseqWe

Over the course of the next week, major new articles will be published
in both /Science/ and /Nature, /building on the work of the Assessment,
and we will also be hosting an IPBES pollination side-event in the
margins of the CBD COP13 in Mexico, on Tuesday, 6 December 2016,
presenting key finding and messages from the Assessment, with a focus on
informing national action plans and implementation.
I would like to please urge you to share the report and its Summary for
Policymakers (SPM) as widely as possible with your networks,
institutions and associates. We count on your assistance to help ensure
its widest possible reach and greatest impact.
Thank you again and warm regards,
*Anne Larigauderie* | Executive Secretary
