[Pollinator] New bumble bee atlas project for the PNW

Hi everyone,



The Xerces Society is joining forces with Idaho Department of Fish and
Game, Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife, and Oregon State
University to launch the Pacific Northwest Bumble Bee Atlas
<http://www.pnwbumblebeeatlas.org/>. This tri-state project will be
gathering information about bumble bees to increase our understanding of
their distributions and status in the PNW, and help focus conservation
efforts. You can read more at

The project will be powered by volunteers. If you want to help look for
bumble bees in Oregon, Washington, or Idaho, go to
http://www.pnwbumblebeeatlas.org/ and click on “Get Involved”. There are
also some training events coming up in the three states over the coming
weeks. Check the atlas website for info on those.



This is a regional project, but if you’re feeling left out because you live
elsewhere, you can either plan to travel and enjoy the beautiful northwest
or much more sensibly, just watch out for bumble bees at home and report
your observations to Bumble Bee Watch, https://www.bumblebeewatch.org/.
