Greetings!

bees and plants in remote high elevation habitats throughout Yosemite's
alpine. The work will involve multiple-day backpack trips into remote
locations, hiking up to 10 miles per day and carrying up to a 40 lb pack in
steep, uneven (spectacular!) terrain.
The announcement is open on USA Jobs through January 23rd, *but it may

USAJOBS - Job Announcement <https://www.usajobs.gov/job/698576100>
These positions support the plant ecology program manager in sampling bees
and associated plants to understand plant-pollinator relationships and
build an inventory of bees in the alpine zone of Yosemite National Park.
GS 05 - Crew members will conduct multiple-day backpack trips into remote
locations, hiking up to 10 miles per day and carrying up to a 40 lb pack in
steep/uneven terrain, in inclement weather, and with limited communication.
Sample bees using hand-netting and pan-trapping methods, and track plant-
pollinator interactions by identifying plants visited by bees.

accessioning, tracking), entering and maintaining spatial and tabular data,
and producing preliminary data summaries.
GS 07 - Project assistant will assist with crew training, oversee field
operations and conduct data QA/QC. Develop field data collection plans and

write preliminary reports; communicate clearly and consistently with team
members and supervisors.
Yosemite National Park, California, known worldwide for its spectacular
natural beauty is the backdrop for this position. Sitting astride the
Sierra Nevada Mountains, the park covers 1,182 square miles of varied
wilderness ecosystems, from river valleys to alpine meadows to lofty 13,000
foot high peaks. Yosemite Valley is located 208 miles from San Francisco,
81 miles from Merced, and 94 miles from Fresno. Shopping, medical, postal
and laundry services are available in the park. Elevation at the Valley
floor is approximately 4,000 feet and 2,200 feet in El Portal. The park is
open year-round with the majority of activities occurring during the busy
season March through October.
