Summer greetings,
We hope this finds you flourishing. A new Mini Auction Fundraiser has
begun, it only runs until Sunday night. See below for more info.
The _Trichocereus_ cacti are blooming and we are in the process of
making unique new hybrids. We have seed of a dozen+ exciting, novel
hybrids we produced last year, our plan right now is to list these,
along with this year's new seed, sometime this winter. We are now
resigned to much of this year being given over to ongoing nursery
renovations, irrigation installation and garden reclamation. This is
progressing slow, but steady. Our hope is to have the bulk of the work
completed by next year and return our focus to the plants themselves.
We've had little time for propagation work this summer, a first in 26
years! We do have a few fascinating new plants that will be available
soon via our website Specimen List, and more next year.
_We are only shipping_ _retail orders intermittently this year_ as we
continue to take time out for renovations and reconfigure aspects of
our operation in light of our erratically changing climate. Much of
spring we had poor to no internet connection, it took nearly 2 months
to have new lines installed. This regretful situation delayed or
derailed many of our plans for the spring and summer. See our homepage
for the current limited shipping schedule.
The Ninth Mini Auction Fundraiser has begun! See partway down our
homepage for the terms and listings: www.sacredsucculents.comPlease
read the full terms before bidding. _All bids should be directed to
our other email:_ benkamm at monitor.net The auction closes this
Sunday, July 24, at 6:30pm PST. Auction plants should ship within a
week of payment.
Our Specimen Plant List has also been updated today, this is posted
just below the Plant Auction. We've also updated the catalog
PDFs—available for download at the top of the homepage.
We _temporarily_ resume retail shipping the week of August 8, if you
placed an order during our several month hiatus it will soon ship in
the order it was received. Shipping the current large number of such
backorders will likely take us 6–8+ weeks after the 8th. Please
note: new retail orders placed now will ship towards the end of that
time, the exception being auction plants which we do our best to ship
the same week payment arrives. Also note: due to the high volume of
orders this year, some retail _Trichocereus_ cuttings are on backorder
and may cause further delay with your order. We greatly appreciate
your patience._We will continue to send out weekly orders from our
Specimen Plant List and plant auctions throughout the coming year._
Make sure to check out the otherworldly images from the updated
Microcosms website, a homage to the sacred plants of the Americas. We
have contributed plants to this amazing intersection of science and
art. https://www.microcosmssacredplants.org/
Perpetual gratitude for your ongoing patience, understanding and
support during these tumultuous times!
