	  Greetings Botaniphiles,

2023's final Plant Mini Auction-Fundraiser has begun!
See partway down our homepage for the auction
terms and listings: www.sacredsucculents.com/#auction
Please read the full terms before bidding.Plants
are for US bidders only, yet the auction Seeds and the Book offering_
__are open to international bidding_!
Due to this year's adversities, a _number of plants will only be
available via auction for some time, and many of these only as a
single offering_. Know that auction purchases directly fund nursery
repairs and renovations as well as our continual research and
conservation work._All bids should be directed to our other email:_
benkamm at monitor.net
The auction closes this Monday, December 18,
at 6:00pm Pacific Standard Time.
The SPECIMEN PLANT LIST is posted for December, _a few
more plants added today!_
See below the auction -
https://sacredsucculents.com/#specimen-plant-list This is the
final and largest update of the year! We've listed many new cacti &
succulents, unique medicinals, Andean species (including a medley of
rare Ericaceae), and our current stock of Andean Tubers. This is also
where we've listed a selection of the currently available retail
plants.
Bonus Gift Plant Special!: _Plant orders_ with a subtotal
of $100 or more, and postmarked by 12/16, will include our choice of
bonus gift plants! (We'll choose relevant gift plants of roughly
15-20% the value of the order subtotal, based on your order or your
requests and our available stock.)
A selection of New BOOKS, including Rare & Used Editions,
has been posted near the bottom of our homepage. Several books are
currently On Sale, including Jonathan Ott's titles. Some of the
singular rarities we've listed come from the library of our late
friend, the celebrated ethnobotanist Richard Felger.
We’ve also posted the last of some Botanical Products
-- balsam resins, Goldroot, and Muña oil.
Due to intractable events, losses and extensive
damage to many plants these past seasons, the rest of the website and
PDF lists are primarily for reference right now. Our retail lists are
in need of significant revision -- a task which I’m unlikely to
accomplish for at least several months. In the interim, we’re not
taking any seed orders (except the few Specimen or Auction listed
seeds). You are welcome to make inquiries, but know our Specimen
Plant List is the only reliable list to currently order from. This
will continue until our retail stock has sufficiently recovered and
our lists have been revised -- we _hope_ to update the retail PDFs and
resume shipping seed in spring 2024. Please email to confirm
availability _prior_ to ordering. Use this email _or_

GIFT CERTIFICATES make excellent gifts and are available for any
amount, please inquire.________
       New Collectible Offering:
The PLEASURE: Animist Encounters with Poison Oak
~signed copies!~
by Erik Davis, illustrations by David Y. D’Andrea
 Lessons from the Poison Path
A lively and fascinating essay by our good friend Erik Davis,
inspired by a hike we took just downstream of Sacred Succulents the
first summer of the pandemic. Poison oak is a integral member of
California’s ecology, a plant that demands attention and prudence,
yet little has be written about this adaptable species and many
mysteries still surround the wily nature of _Toxicodendron
diversilobum_. Scratching beneath the surface of science and legend,
Erik keenly discerns poison oak’s anthropomorphic qualities,
including that of a fierce and mercurial guardian, a tricky teacher,
and a vigorous ally to the endangered “wilds”. A must read for
all who’ve encountered the plant and it’s troublesome
effects—what some perversely describe as the pleasure. With a
gorgeous full color cover and interior black & white illustrations,
this informative chapbook is a lovely limited collector’s item. Our
copies are signed by the author!
 6 ~ Copies, Signed Chapbook, 24 pages $20 (8 oz)

Through the calamities and obstacles of recent years we
persist in our efforts to care for life here in all its myriad forms.
You have our perpetual gratitude for your patience and support!
warm regards,
     Ben Kamm and family,
