The next first-Sunday-of-the-month slow session will be this Sunday,
September 5, from 1-3pm, at Deli-licious, 21505 E. Cliff Drive, in
the East Cliff Village Shopping Center.
When I went to this session it was really nice -- everyone was having
a great time, fine food from the deli, people walking in and
applauding, and so on. Click below to see a picture of what the
session looked like from the front door of Deli-licious:

Copies of the tuneset books generally used at slow session are sold
for $15, and you can now download and print the 1006-tune "King
Street Sessions Tunebook" for free at

-- many thanks to Michael Long for putting the book together and now
putting it online as well!

> Thursday, September 9th – A special Benefit Concert for David Brewer
> at Don Quixote’s International Music Hall, 6275 Highway 9 in Felton
> at 7:30pm. A minimum donation of $15 is requested; more if you can
> afford it. Tickets are on sale at the venue and for reservations,
> call the Don Quixote’s hotline at (831) 603-2294. A remarkable man &
> musician who has given so much of himself to the Celtic music
> community through his Celtic Music Nights on Tuesdays in Aptos & his
> appearances with Molly’s Revenge that never fail to gladden the
> heart with his infectious joy, David Brewer now needs our help.
> Imagine sitting in a hotel shuttle to the airport, looking out the
> window & seeing your car, stolen the previous night, drive by!
> That’s what happened recently to Molly’s Revenge’s piper David
> Brewer. The car got away and was thankfully recovered a few days
> later but needed repair work & the thieves stole personal
> belongings & recording equipment resulting in David being about
> $4000 out of pocket. Molly’s Revenge has organized this concert to
> help recoup David’s loses. Of course, Molly’s Revenge will be
> performing & helping the cause will be vocalist Moira Smiley,
> Grammy Award winning guitarist William Coulter, Scottish-style
> fiddler Deby Benton Grosjean & from Ireland’s foremost family of
> song, Shay & Michael Black. All the performers are donating their
> time & Don Quixote’s is waiving their rental fee. If you can’t
> attend the concert and would like to help David, you can make a
> donation via PayPal on the link at www.mollysrevenge.com.
