Subject: Natural Resources Seminar Invitation

Dear Colleagues,
I would like to invite you to attend a seminar that the Potomac Institute is
hosting at the National Zoo on Sept. 9.    Several of the speakers represent
conservation organizations, and will be addressing issues in non-commodity
natural resources and the economy for the next Presidential Administration.
Speakers will also review the “Green Budget” and other policy issues related
to natural resources and wildlife.  Any assistance you can provide in
publicizing the event and its results would be very much appreciated.  The
press release and program are attached with more details.  Thanks for your
help, and please contact me with any questions or concerns.
Have a great weekend,
Kathryn Schiller

THE COLOR OF OUR ECONOMY:

VALUED IN THE NEXT ADMINISTRATION

Senators McCain and Obama have both acknowledged the importance of
energy and the environment to American voters concerned about the economy.
But non-commodity resources – birds, water, forests, open space – never seem
to be considered in terms of what they contribute to our economy.  This
forum will bring experts together to clarify the issue of the Green Economy,
and identify key areas for the next administration to address in public
policy.  Economists, scientists, and representatives of affected
constituencies will discuss the importance of non-commodity natural
resources and their impact on the Nation’s economy.  The panelists will also
examine the federal budget and policies affecting natural resources.  The
final product of this forum will be published as a non-partisan Primer for
the Candidates on Non-Commodity Natural Resource Issues.
