Subject: pollinator week in the USA

Dear all,

I have written a book on honeybees.

This book, originally written in German, has been extraordinarily
successful,
and almost 20.000 copies were sold in 2007, the first year of its
appearance.
In influencing the way of thinking it even has been compared (I was terribly
proud on that) with Rachel Carson?s highly influential Silent Spring.

The book is currently being translated into 11 different languages (Arab,
Chinese, English, French, Greek, Italian, Korean Polish, Portuguese,
Slovenian
and Spanish).

The major goal of this book is to make people think about the relevance of
bees
and about the fragility of system, on which we badly depend.

I am very happy about such a positive resonance as it shows that people are
interested and willing to listen (more precise: to read and look at
photographs
in this case).

The English translation is planned to appear in the US in June 2008.
This may fit perfect into your campaign announced under
http://www.pollinator.org/pollinator_week_2008.htm

In case by reading up to here you may got interest in this book, please see

Broad and extensive reviews in German Magazines, TV-spots and radio
broadcasting (only in German up to now):

It would be wonderful if I would get a positive response with any suggestion
on
how to proceed possibly with this book in the US under the perspective of
the
so important pollination biology made popular by your impressive activities.
A direct link to your campaign would make much sense, I think.

The US National Wildlife Federation (NWF) has an article in the June
2008-issue
of Ranger Rick, its kids magazine, about my work on honeybees, and the
National
Wildlife Magazine by NWF plans a similar story for grown ups later this
year.

With best wishes,
Jürgen Tautz.
