Central Nebraska tour to highlight pollinator habitat and grassland management

ST. PAUL -- A habitat tour and workshop is planned for 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday, June 21, starting at the Gathering Place in St. Paul. The tour is open to the public and is being hosted by Pheasants Forever, the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission, the Natural Resources Conservation Service, the Nature Conservancy, Prairie Plains Resources Institute and the Nebraska Environmental Trust. 

June 21 marks the first day of National Pollinator Week and this tour will highlight successful pollinator habitat projects and discuss the importance of pollinators and their habitat. The tour will also showcase grassland management using grazing and prescribed fire as a tool, wildlife habitat and prairie restoration. In addition, the event will also feature prairie plant identification as part of the tour.
