"This Week at Hilton Pond" we wandered into a patch of Oxeye Daisies and were intrigued by the diversity of tiny insects to be found on the white-and-yellow flower heads. For a photo essay about these minuscule critters--both pollinators and petal-eaters--please visit the installment for 1-12 June 2011 at
http://www.hiltonpond.org/ThisWeek110601.html

While there don't forget to scroll down for our usual list of birds banded and recaptured during the period. Of particular interest is another of our birds encountered elsewhere, plus miscellaneous nature notes and an alarming story about a mushroom poisoning incident. We also include an acknowledgement of several benefactors who recently made contributions in support of Hilton Pond Center's education, research, and conservation activities.

Happy Nature Watching!

BILL
