_Better bee health begins and ends with science, not soundbites (The Hill’
s Congress Blog)_
(http://thehill.com/blogs/congress-blog/energy-a-environment/263839-better-bee-health-begins-and-ends-with-science-not-soundbites) –
The Hill’s blog post aims to shed light on the assumption that colony
collapse is mainly caused by pesticides. The blog post contends that the “
supporting evidence” provided by petitioners of the EPA could not be
substantiated and the EPA responded saying that it was unaware of data directly
correlating bee losses with pesticide use. The post appears to criticize the
groups for threatening legal action when the EPA has already addressed the
issue with a public comment period and continues to do investigate the matter.
The post ends with a declaration of support for the EPA and USDA, and
recognizes the importance of teaching others to manage crop protection products
safely.
