The Xerces Society partnered with nature photographer Clay Bolt, of
Beautiful Bees, and Neil Losin, of Day's Edge Productions, to produce "A
Ghost in the Making," a fantastic video about the disappearance of the
rusty-patch bumble bee. The project was supported by Endangered Species
Chocolate. "A Ghost in the Making" is being premiered at film festivals
this spring.

If you are in or near Washington, D.C., there is an opportunity to see this
beautiful video at The Birds and the Bees, an evening of environmental
films organized by D.C.'s Department of Energy & Environment and the National
Geographic Society. After the video, there will be a panel discussion
featuring Clay, Neil, and the Xerces Society's Rich Hatfield.

The screening will be at the National Geographic Museum on April 18. The DC
DEE has created Facebook event pages and an online registration page. The
event is free but registration is required. You can register via either of
the following links:

If you’re not in the D.C. region, don’t worry. The film will be shown at
various festivals around the country and will also be released online
before too much longer.
