Thanks to Anne Marie Krmpotich and Tam Smith for sending this --

*The NFWF Monarch Butterfly and Pollinators Conservation Fund is now
accepting applications* for competitive funding. Details are provided in
the 2018 Request For Proposals
<http://www.nfwf.org/monarch/Pages/2018rfp.aspx.> with additional program
information available on the NFWF Monarch & Pollinators webpage
<http://www.nfwf.org/monarch/Pages/home.aspx>. This year's funding
opportunity *pre-proposal* *submission is due March 14th, 2018.*

The addition of the term ‘Pollinators’ to the program name for the 2018
cycle reflects an expansion of program priorities. In 2018, the Fund is
soliciting proposals to *advance conservation of the monarch butterfly and
other at-risk native insect pollinators*
 (including bees!)
. The majority of funding will support projects that benefit monarch
butterfly but the most-competitive projects will demonstrate clear benefits
to both monarch butterfly and other at-risk native insect pollinators.

As in previous years, grants will be awarded in two primary categories:

1) Habitat Improvement

2) Outreach and Organizational Coordination

Eligible applicants include non-profit 501(c) organizations, federal,
state, tribal, local, and municipal government agencies, and educational
institutions. Approximately $1.6 million is available. Grant requests
should range in size from $50,000 to $150,000 and include 1:1 in matching
funds.

A *webinar on **Thursday February 15* *, 2018 *at 10 AM EST will be hosted
by NFWF to learn about the 2018 grant cycle timeline, funding priorities,
the application process, tips for submitting competitive proposals, and the
opportunity to ask questions. *Register here*: NFWF MBPCF Webinar

*2018 Funding Opportunity *

*We are pleased to announce the 2018 Monarch Butterfly and Pollinators
Conservation Fund Request For Proposals.*

The Monarch Butterfly and Pollinators Conservation Fund is now accepting
applications for competitive grant funding. Up to $1.6 million is expected
to be available for grant awards in 2018. Details about this funding
opportunity are provided in the Request For Proposals

The 2018 funding opportunity includes a pre-proposal stage, and the
pre-proposal submission deadline is March 14, 2018.

Originally named the Monarch Butterfly Conservation Fund, the program is
adding the term ‘Pollinators’ to its title in 2018 to reflect an increased
focus on a broader set of priority native species. The program continues to
emphasize monarch butterfly conservation, but projects that address
demonstrated needs for other federally listed or candidate insect
pollinator species are also eligible. The most-competitive projects will
demonstrate clear benefits to both monarch butterfly and other at-risk
native insect pollinators. Grant funding will be awarded in two categories:

   - Habitat Improvement
   - Outreach and Organizational Coordination

Eligible applicants include non-profit organizations, federal, state,
tribal and local agencies, and educational institutions. This year,
projects must occur in the United States to be eligible. Grants may range
in size from $50,000 to $150,000.
