NCP? NCP is a user interface. It should not be running just for its
own amusement.
Exactly what are you doing, and what are the results?

I'm entering NCP from OPR to add node names.   However it keeps telling
me "NCP is not running".

Hmm. We need someone who remembers the details better. I know there is some daemons that should be started, but I can't remember much more right now. The error message is "weird", though, if that is literal.
