[HECnet] Bringing up a MicroVAX 3100-80

Thanks everyone. I found a H8571-J adapter at eBay which should address
the PC serial port connection, as well as a "Unicom ETP-20028T-2" which
is a rather cute "AUI cable, transeiver and patch cord all-in-one". Both
should be here by April.

What is "jabber" ?

Also, the serial OPA0: runs at 9600/8/N/1?

VAXstations didn't normally need a serial console, but if you had to connect one for some reason the printer port was used. They couldn't use ports 0 or 1 because those were needed for the keyboard/mouse, and I guess DEC decided they wanted to keep the modem port open. The MicroVAX-2000 and 3000s are the same hardware as the corresponding VAXstation, and DEC kept the serial port assignments the same.
