Poem for Kiev

Sunset.
Eggs of red and gold
All packed away.
you stand
a Red fringed blanket
Wrapped around your arms
at the window as sunlight fades
Till a rocket shrieks
Fire leaps
The Earth shakes
All around you.
Night falls as the arcs of flame
Rain down rain down
As you stand.
