Mark Madison hosts an interview with author William Souder.
Pulitzer Prize nominated author William Souder examines John James Audubon
in his newest book. In the century and half since Audubon death, his name
has become synonymous with wildlife conservation and natural history, but
few people know what a complicated figure he was or the dramatic story
behind his famous Birds of America. Souder brings this man and his era to
life suggesting new ways to understand American history and the growth of
our environmental thought.
William Souder is the author of A Plague of Frogs and Under a Wild Sky.
He is a frequent contributor to The Washington Post.
