Welcome to the summer edition of Education Works, filled with ideas and
resources for celebrating pollinator protection week and interesting
stories about our Corporate Lands for Learning (CLL) programs. You can
find out who's new to our list of Conservation Education Sites too. Log

Celebrate National Pollinator Week
You can help celebrate the importance of pollinators during National20
Pollinator Week (June 22, 2009)! Discover how states across the country
are helping increase awareness of these important species through
events and activities. Learn how you can host your own pollinator event
here.
Time to Teach About Pollinators
Looking for a free curriculum resource that can be easily integrated
into your conservation education programs? Check out North American
Pollinator Protection Campaign's curriculum entitled Nature's Partners;
Pollinators, Plants, and You.
Which BEE can this BEE?
Check out this new database compiled by Smithsonian Institution Museum
of Natural History's Entomology Department. With over 35 million
individual specimens there is no shortage of information on bees and
dragonflies.
Earth Day Celebration
Earth Day provides us an opportunity for celebration. Learn about the
Earth Day Fair hosted by Monsanto World Headquarters in Iowa. The Fair
included exhibit booths from local conservation and environmental
organizations, a bird-banding demonstration, crafts, and a nature walk.
In addition, Monsanto shares "tips" on developing successful programs
at your site.
