Hi everyone,
I just wanted to let you know that the Xerces Society has just produced a
handy guide to the milkweeds and monarchs in the western U.S. This is not
an ID guide; we’ve already produced a series of those for several western
states. But if you’re a land manager or farmer and want to know more about
these species and how you can help understand their distribution and
status, this is for you.
Our thanks go to the Monarch Joint Venture, USDA Natural Resources
Conservation Service, and the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service for their
cooperation in developing this guide, and to the Alice C. Tyler Perpetual
Trust, The Bay and Paul Foundations, Endangered Species Chocolate, and
Turner Foundation—and Xerces Society members!—for financial support
To download the guide, please go to
