[Pollinator] Fwd: Amitostigma bee and fly

Here we have some examples of pollination at 3300 M.  Does someone know the
current email of Dr. Chris Thompson (retired dipterologist at the
Smithsonian)?  The majority of insects pollinating this Amitostigma orchid
are flies and some are definitely syrphids.

We are also collecting a few male bees on this orchid.  Would a kind soul
be able to identify the bee in the photo to genus? Those funny, yellow
"growths" on the head and mouth parts of these two insects are the orchid's
pollinaria.  It is not a fungal disease.
