[Pollinator] The Editor Couldn't resist

An editor of the International edition of The New York Times asked Stephen
Buchmann to write an Op Ed piece on rare and threatened flowers due to the
recent success of his new book; "The Reason For Flowers."  The editor
solicited both the Cox and Bernhardt/Meier labs for appropriate photos.
Note that, while blue chicory is a common weed, they could not resist
Retha's photo most probably because the pollen eating syrphid fly is in
excellent focus.  Some of you my find this link a useful think piece for
your classes, tours and workshops.  As certain plant species become
increasingly rare what will happen to populations of the more specialized
pollinators active at the time of year when such flowers bloom?
