"We are trying to confirm whether the African stingless bee genus
*Meliponula* does in fact sonicate
(buzz pollinate) flowers with pored anthers (e.g. *Solanum*), or if it
only gleans pollen left on corollas after visits by legitimate buzzing bees
(e.g. *Amegilla*). Please contact us asap if you have information (personal
observations or know of a published literature reference) on floral buzzing
behavior by *Meliponula* in Africa."
thanking you in advance for any help you can provide!
Sincerely,
Stephen Buchmann, Ph.D.
