I couldn't agree more. Unhappily, the insistence of the media in using "CCD" to encompass the broader spectrum of parasite-viral entities has confused the public and not a few beekeepers. That said,
our focus should remain on science and precision in description. I am concerned that references to "commercial beekeepers" potentially "spreading" viral disease or making expression or viral disease more frequent may unnecessarily antagonize and divide elements of our pollinator community.

I can't find an explanation in this study for the lack of bee bodies in CCD. Yet a claim is made that DWV is at the heart of it CCD.
