Don’t miss this opportunity for free cover crop seed!

Project Apis m.’s Seeds for Bees program encourages the use of cover crops
to increase the density, diversity, and duration of bee forage in
California orchards, farms, and vineyards, while improving soil health.
The seed mixes available through Seeds for Bees are designed to bloom at
critical times of the year when natural forage is scarce but managed and
native bees are active.  Bee forage cover crops serve the needs of bees,
beekeepers, and growers, while increasing sustainability of pollination and
agriculture.



Growers can apply online at the link below. Beekeepers should encourage
their growers to participate in the program so their bees can access
diverse forage when they place their hives in California almond orchards
come spring time!  Although most of the participants primarily produce
almonds the Seeds for Bees seed mixes have been successful in walnuts,
pistachios, prunes, citrus, cherries, and table/wine grapes.



Seeds for Bees Enrollment is open until November 1st, but space is limited.
