Don’t forget the July 1 deadline for Applications/Nominations for the
*Pollinator
Electric Power Award* presented by the North American Pollinator Protection
Campaign.  This is a very short application.

*Announce the Pollinator Electric Power Award*

*Pollinator Electric Power* is a new initiative of the North American
Pollinator Protection Campaign (NAPPC) to recognize electric power
companies who are leading the field in pollinator‐friendly projects. In
2020, NAPPC will be awarding its inaugural Pollinator Electric Power Award.
This award adds to the existing award categories, including Pollinator
Advocates, Pollinator Conservation Farmer-Ranchers, Monarch Sustainers, and
Pollinator Roadside Managers.

*The Award*
This award is eligible for Pollinator Electric Power Projects including,
but not limited to utility rights-of-way, generation facilities (solar,
wind, hydro, etc), substations, and surplus property. As a sponsor of the
program, EPRI will not be represented on the award selection committee.

*Award Criteria *– Pollinator Electric Power Projects should meet the
following criteria:

   - Demonstrates an exemplary long‐term commitment to provide pollinator
   habitat at managed facilities and/or on transmission or utility
   rights-of-ways.
   Supports pollinator-friendly plants or seeds
   - Promotes pollinator-friendly vegetation management practices
   (Conservation mowing, IVM, etc.) on managed lands.
   - Can describe the positive ecological and social benefits of the
   company's pollinator initiative.
   - Engages the public through education and outreach as well as signage.
   - Documented rights-of-way miles or acres benefited, or other
   ecologically-based metric, by the company's pollinator initiative, and
   plans for the future.

   - Deadline for Applications/Nominations: July 1, 2020
   - Award Announced: Summer/Fall 2020

To nominate a project for the NAPPC Pollinator Electric Power Award, please
complete the online nomination form and submit your nomination by *July
1st, 2020. *Self-nominations are accepted.
