Hi everyone: Xerces has two awards to support student research projects.
See the information below. Please note that I can't answer questions -- I'm

Now accepting applications for 2027 Xerces Society for Invertebrate
Conservation student research awards:

The Joan Mosenthal DeWind Award (for research and conservation of
Lepidoptera)

 and

The Deborah BanDrosky Award (for research and conservation of any
invertebrate taxon)



The Xerces Society is again offering two student research awards for 2027:
the Joan Mosenthal DeWind Award, to support students pursuing educational
research in Lepidoptera conservation; and the Deborah BanDrosky Award, to
support students engaged in studies and research as part of a higher
education degree related to invertebrate conservation.

This year, both awards will each have two $5,000 awards as well as two
honorable mention awards. Both awards are available to international
students (restrictions apply). For full award information and instructions

Submission Deadline: The submission deadline for both awards is Tuesday,
December 1, 2026, at 11:59 PM Pacific Standard Time (PST). DeWind Award
winners will be announced by March 15, 2027, and BanDrosky Award winners
will be announced by March 31, 2027. Initial award payments will be made by
recipients by June 2027. Eligible students can apply to both awards, but
can only win one; DeWind awards will be determined first.
