As I had mailed out earlier this month, the big news at last month's
slow session was that we will no longer be able to meet at the
NOAA/Long Marine Lab location. Lucas had proposed trying out the
Windmill Coffee Spot on East Cliff (former location of Buckhart’s
Candy, among others) this month, saying

 > I am Lucas and I have been going to the slow jam for
 > about 6 months. At the request of another member I
 > have asked the new owner of the Windmill Coffee Spot
 > to host our jam (third sunday of the month). He has
 > agreed to give us a try. I have reminded him that we
 > would buy coffee or treats from him. So please do..
 >
 > Also, the space isn't large. Maybe we can all fit
 > inside if there are a lot of customers (there usually
 > aren't late on Sunday). It might be nice to play
 > outside during the Spring and Summer? He has a big
 > patio.
 >
 > Lastly, the location... He is on East Cliff Drive
 > across the street from 12th ave. This is right behind
 > the lagoon next to Twin Lakes state beach. It is a
 > very pretty location.

The responses I've gotten to that mailing so far have all been
variations on "Let's give it a try", so I guess we are on there for
this Sunday, and can see how it goes. Therefore:

Fáilte (welcome) to this month's 3rd Sunday Session. 3rd Sunday of
the month, 2 - 4 p.m. on April 15, at the Windmill Coffee Spot, Santa
Cruz. This is a slow session. Bain sult as! (enjoy)

Slow Airs Session 1:30 - 2: Enjoy pre-session fun w/ Alec before
we switch to our usual session music.

Etiquette guidelines:
1) Session starts promptly so we don't lag into the whole day.
2) Please save the socializing for the break so we have lots of
   playing time.
3) 3:15 - 3:30 break: As the Windmill Coffee Spot is a coffee shop,
there will be drinks and treats there for purchase.
4) Going around in a circle, everyone has a turn to choose a tune and
   the tempo.
5) A single tune is played 3 times. In a set, each tune is played
   twice.
6) If needed, bring your music stand and tuneset book. Here's a
website w/ tips on playing by ear:
   http://www.slowplayers.org/SCTLS/learn.html
7) Tuneset books are sold for $15 exactly or check.

The address of the Windmill Coffee Spot is 2-1231 East Cliff Drive.
I guess one easy way to get there would be to go down 17th Ave.
toward the ocean, then turn right on East Cliff, and in a few blocks
you should see the Windmill on your right.

In case we do wind up playing outside, you might want to bring/apply
sunscreen, and bring clothespins or other clips to avoid potential
wind/tunebook conflicts.
