[Santa Cruz Celtic Slow Sessions] August sessions

Hello Everyone,

It was such a pleasure to play music with you all yesterday! I am sending
along information on the open contra band. There is a rehearsal this
Thursday at 7pm, and the dance is Sunday, the 13th, in the afternoon, at
the Live Oak Grange. Below is the message from Joyce Fortune. I have
attached the setlist and music to this email.

Musicians:



Frank and Daniel will be hosting a rehearsal for next Sunday’s open band at
Santa Cruz contra on Thursday, 9/10 from 7-9 pm. at Daniel’s house at 615
Washington St. in Santa Cruz.



A set list from Frank is attached and the (good) Spottify link to the
playlist (which does not exactly match the attached set list but might be
helpful to some) is:

Note that you do not need to play all the tunes or even all of any tune.
You can join in on tunes you want to play with and pop out again and dance!
Daniel and Frank will be miked and everyone else will be behind them.



We would also ask that you sign in at the door and contribute some funds,
whether you dance or not. We do have to pay rent. 😊

Working with the collaboration of Vicky and Jessica, we assembled a
manageable setlist for musicians new to playing for dances.



I've added one more set to bring the total to twelve: Cora Dye and Oyster
River Hornpipe. The packet runs to 28 pages which I've tried to arrange so
that if printed on both sides the packet comes to 14 sheets of paper
ordered so that the mostly two-tune sets the tunes on facing pages.
