The C-list or Chatty list is for just about anything cycling.  It can have periods of quiet and then have a flurry of posts. See also the Facebook guideline below. SRCC membership is NOT a requirement for joining these lists, nor does SRCC membership automatically confer a list subscription, but it helps me confirm who you are. While the list appears to be a quasi club list, it is independent of the club and administered solely by me. To subscribe to the list, you need enter your info on the subscribe page and when you receive the confirmation email, you need to respond to that as well. This confirms your intent to be on the list(s). This is all handled automagically. I cannot add your name without your approval. You must provide your full name as part of the subscription process - no name, no approval. I dislike rules as much as anyone else, but experience has proven that some set of guidelines need to be in place. Thus there are several rules in addition to the well-known typical list behavior rules. Please read before you sign up. 1 [deleted - for the moment]. 2 If you are replying to a Digest, please trim the contents so that we do not have to read the entire digest. Please edit the SUBJECT line to reflect that to which you are responding - clarity is a good thing. 3 You are responsible for maintaining your computer and your email account so that it does not become infected or have a security breach and send out spam messages to the list. 4 If you want to post something OFF TOPIC, please include either OT or Off-Topic in your subject line. 5 No posting of any computer warnings or other faux "you should know about" type items that are not related to the general topic. Ever. 6 The list has a 8mb limit on attachments. Please respect this by ensuring that your attachments are under this limit. 7 No posting of race results if the race happens to be shown on TV. Take this to mean all aspects of the race. Unless you comply with the following rule. 8 During racing season and in particular the Tour de France, if your message includes ANY discussion of results, PLEASE be sure to include RESULTS in your subject line. 9 Do not hijack threads - that means that if you want to start a new topic, please do not reply to a message and change the subject and discussion. Start a new one. 10 Trash-talk discussions about so-called "club agendas" will not be tolerated. If you have an issue with a club policy, please take it up with the SRCC board. 11 I allow posting of items for sale by list members only. Please include For Sale or FS in your subject line. Please request that interested parties respond OFF-LIST. Don't abuse this by posting items not related to the intent of this list. If in doubt, please email me in advance. 12. If you subscribe under one email address but try to post under a different address, don't expect me to fix it. Please post under the address that you used to subscribe to the list. 13. Please do not post recommendations for people/services not related to the list intent. It is one thing to ASK for a recommendation but another thing to PROMOTE a person or business service. Questions to me if in doubt. 14. Please do not forward bike shop promotions to the list. If in doubt, please ask first. Do not assume that just because you like it, others will too. The list is not the place for commercial campaigns or spam of any sort. Your first several posts may be moderated. This is to insure that the list is not invaded with those who don't play well with others. If you have any questions please feel free to contact me. To post a message to all the list members, send email to srcc-c@lists.sonic.net. You can subscribe to the list, or change your existing subscription, in the sections below.
Subscribing to SRCC-C
Subscribe to SRCC-C by filling out the following form. You will be sent email requesting confirmation, to prevent others from gratuitously subscribing you. Once confirmation is received, your request will be held for approval by the list moderator. You will be notified of the moderator's decision by email. This is also a hidden list, which means that the list of members is available only to the list administrator. Your email address:   Your name (optional):   You may enter a privacy password below. This provides only mild security, but should prevent others from messing with your subscription. Do not use a valuable password as it will occasionally be emailed back to you in cleartext. If you choose not to enter a password, one will be automatically generated for you, and it will be sent to you once you've confirmed your subscription. You can always request a mail-back of your password when you edit your personal options. Once a month, your password will be emailed to you as a reminder.
